so there's hope the international and US-version follows in the next days.
changelog has been pretty much what GSC told us it will be.
So still no free-end-play, AI fixes and performance/stability changes.
but, better than nothing and it should NOT fuck up your savegames.
crossing fingers.....

Gooooooooood... Second run is at hand. I hope at least half of the mods will be compatible with it.

I have russian version, but didn't install the patch, changes are minimal. Will wait for larger overhaul, though it's fun to play as it is now.

I'm gonna update with the patch that allows me to keep playing the game after "beating it", since I'm getting close to the end, or one of them at least.

I have Stalker but haven't played through it yet because I've been waiting on the supposed third patch. However, seeing how long it took for the second patch makes me think that will be a ways away... so is it playable in it's current build? That is, there aren't any game-breaking bugs that will force me to restart if I save in a bad spot?

Simply put; yes, the game is very playable right now. ;)

Respawn being the only real issue left in the game currently. Once the next patch is out, that`ll fix that.

Try Realism Mod 0.9.9.1 - it lessens respawn of human emenies and lessens quantity of them + tons of improvements which, with current speed of development, will be in an official patch probably no sooner than in 2010.

You may run into a game killing bug at the Army Warehouses, it doesn't affect everyone, just some of us :(

The respawning really isn't a 'game-breaking bug', it's just something that a lot of people thought was overdone. Saves will be compatible with the next patch this time, so you can always start playing now and then upgrade when it's released.
