One war fanatic drove to Georgia, but he forgot to remove the "Z" logo from his car. The Georgians sent him back into Russia. Now, did he learn anything from this? No. Now he's calling for Russia to invade Georgia -_- because the Georgians wouldn't help him flee from being drafted..
It's exactly how "Ruskij Mir" works :p (Trump's world too: it' just how narcissism finds it way into reality from the mind but top narcissists live, lesser die for them to feed the process).

Apparently, modern military training mostly consists of ability to survive artillery fire:

There are no officers or even sergeants left to train the mobilized. They will be trained in combat conditions. It doesn't take much intelligence to defend. Those who survive the first two weeks will learn."

How utterly depressing. What is the end game for Putin's regime? To just annex the Ukraine, I cant see that happening so just throw people in to die?

So apparently 17000 Russian citizens crossed the border and entered Finland during the weekend. Of course there's always a lot of traffic, since we share such a long border and it's still open for them for some reason, but there's been a significant increase during the couple of days, especially in younger men which isn't a surprise I suppose. Now, I see both pros and cons in this situation.
On the bright side, those men at least won't be murdering and raping more people in Ukraine, and it's a little slap on Putler's face that his own people are escaping to Finland that is also apparently run by the nazis. But on the other hand, a lot of those people aren't escaping because they oppose the Russian terrorism in Ukraine, they only want to avoid being conscripted. It also may not be a good idea to let anyone from a hostile nation enter the country in the current situation. I still think that Finland should have closed its borders from the Russians months ago, and maybe let only asylum seekers in. People in Ukraine are dying and Russia have fucked up the whole Europe, so why would be give them the luxury of "tourism" anyway?

Well you'd hope that some of them get exposed to foreign news coverage now and get the message that they have been indoctrinated.
While that might sound too hopeful, there was a study which asked Fox News viewers to watch 7 hours a week of CNN for a month. After just 1 month their opinions on several key policy points noticeably shifted.

My university (Texas) did that study showing positive effects of exposing people to quality news and lectures back in the '90s. It's interesting that the conservative staples (anti-welfare & immigration) were the most likely to flip after people actually understood the kind of people they're actually talking about, which didn't match any of the stereotypes they assumed going in.
Re: Finland, it somehow reminds me of that tv show Occupied, where heaps of Russian troops just kind of walked into Norway under some ridiculous pretense to do with an oil crisis, and suddenly they were just occupying the place. At the time I thought that was such a dumb premise, but evidently I was way behind the curve on that.

I am a little surprised the border is that open. After the call-up was announced, I expected most of Russia's neighbors to close the border to tourists, guest workers, and other people who weren't requesting asylum.

Get enough of their people across the border and they can hold a referendum on annexation.

It's to justify the next step thanks to deads piling up.
They ALL know those guys will die and it's exactly the goal.
You can't use "real weapons" without a good number of deads justifying their use (see the mythological "russian genocide" in Donbass after Maidan - They NEED more death).
BTW, sometime some loose cannon reminds "authorities" the reality: (

Ironic but the Kremlin likes this kind of thinking. Not now of course, but for the future generations.
