It's a measure of how this war is stupid and a relic from the russian imperial past.
Lenin would be ashemed of this kind of neo-imperial Russia.

I have been banned for a third time from facebook for things I have have said to Russian propagandists. It's not much but it takes things away I would have posted to family. It's a month each time now. I have to speak truth anyway but I do still want to post pictures and keep my account for keeping in touch. I feel I should be there. Old men should fight wars. They have the least to lose and they know what to stand for now. There was a Brit who was captured recently for fighting for Ukraine. Of course the Russians paraded him like a prize. I understand him. Some things are worth fighting for. But here I am not doing it. In my book he is a hero. He risked everything. Here in the west that is a lot. Too much for me to give up apparently. I feel like a coward. Ukraine is standing against authoritarianism and I'm not there though it is a thing I feel deeply about. I'm ashamed but know I won't go. Once again I will watch. Some part of me dies. I feel for that young man. He did what his soul told him he must.

Hate to admit it, but the Finns seem much better prepared than we are:

Quote:
If Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine was for reunification and a grand show of the Russian Federation's military might, then the country's annual Victory Day was likely billed as the date in which the Kremlin would boast about its victory.
Just under three weeks away, the May 9 celebrations likely loom in the minds of the nation's President and his officials.
The reality is less rosy.
The date will mark 75 days of fighting since the invasion began on February 24. It also represents an internationally condemned war that's seen Russia hit with wide-ranging sanctions, a crushed economy and the death of an estimated 20,000 Russian troops.
In Russia, May 9 is also known as Victory Day. The country celebrates the surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945 and the signing of the German Instrument of Surrender. While the signing officially took place on the evening of May 8 in Berlin, it occurred after midnight in Moscow.
However this year, the date holds more weight.
According to the Kyiv Independent, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports Russian troops have been told the “war must end by May 9”.
So, what do people think?
Russia tries some dirty fighting, and kamikazees thousands more of it's guys to try and swiftly topple the Ukrainians?
Or they drop the mother of all bombs on Kyiv and declare "victory" that way?
Or they just lie about it and have their parade pretending they already won?
