I mean, even if we take Lord Dampnut at his word and believe that Putin can be trusted this time because he has so much respect for Lord Dampnut or whatever... Lord Dampnut is old and is statistically likely to die in office in the next 10 years. So what happens then? Who is going to stop Russia from simply attacking again after they have rebuilt their army? They have done it before with the Chechens. Any agreement with Russia is not worth the paper it is printed on.

Short memories they have.
Trump's gang might not be the brightest people out there, but they're still clever enough to realise that their idiot voters fall for all their tricks. The things that they get away is unbelievable and just shows how easy the magafolks are to manipulate. I mean, Trump called Zelenskyy a dictator at the beginning of this week, and only a couple of days later claimed that he never said such a thing. And they called Biden a senile old man...
Trump is just a puppet though, and I'm quite certain that that's something that he and his followers don't fully realise, which is quite scary.

I actually liked Albert Von Kesselring.

Allegedly from a Polish news paper headline:

Putin's press secretary said after their meeting in Saudi that Trump's foreign policy direction aligns with their vision.
Our Secretary of Defense ordered U.S. Cyber Command to cease planning against Russia.
Over the weekend, the Republican politicians who had most staunchly supported Ukraine flipped.
The CBS poll conducted last week in the US found only 51% support continuing aid to Ukraine.
Shockingly, 34% in the poll consider Russia an ally or friendly country.

It's a result of constant programming since 2010. It seems americans love made up conspiracies to avoid talking about the real, very grounded ones like this.

Remember, if this ends with a Russian victory, Russia's just going to invade somewhere else next. Heck, they might do that in defeat, too.

I suspect most of those 34% are suffering from the moral panic believing LGBTQ people and feminism are the biggest threats to the world, and therefore Russia is on the good side because they are anti-woke and have a strong male leader.

We sure are short-sighted and short of memory. We spent 45 years and countless trillions trying to contain Russia after WWII before they went bankrupt. We spent $2-3T getting rid of Saddam for Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. And another $2T+ trying to get rid of the Taliban. We've spent less than a tenth of that on Ukraine and haven't committed any troops or taken any casualties. At the rate Russia is losing troops and spending on the war, we're going to bankrupt them much faster this time around.
Or we can crawl back into our isolationist holes, let Russia recover and rebuild, and wait until Europe blows up again.
