Trump has had a bug up his ass about Ukraine since 2016, and especially since his first impeachment. I don't know why anybody thought he was going to negotiate on Ukraine's behalf.

Like the Postal 2 dude said "Just sign the fucking petition!".
Is Trump mobbing Zelensky in to sign the rare metal agreement or what?

The story that just dropped is that Trump is threatening to cut off Ukraine's access to the Starlink satellite internet access (Musk's system) if it refuses the deal, and at least it was reported anyway that their military relies on that system. (

The thing is that it doesn't include any security deal, so what's the point of signing it from Zelensky's perspective?
You can't even say the violence stops.
But Trump doesn't really even need the pretext.
He's just threatening a country to give up their resources or else like an oldschool colonial power, nothing to do with the conflict or even Ukraine except Trump has a personal vendetta against it & it'll make pappy Putin happy.

Saw it stated somewhere today: "In a war between Russia and Ukraine, it was the US that was first to surrender."

For now, Zelenskyy is still standing his ground against the world's two biggest bullies. Nice to see.
US conservatives are sounding apoplectic today after their meeting plus the Epstein nothingburger.

So this is how Lord Dampnut imagined he would broker peace in 24 hours... Give Putin everything he wants and demand concessions from Ukraine and expect Ukraine to simply bend over. Did he not pay any attention to what happened when Russia made demands of Ukraine? If Ukraine was a country that simply gave in to demands and threats, this war would have already been over 3 years ago.

I think Trump believed he could bring the nuclear football to the table as a bargaining chip but had to settle for his lap-pit-bull, J.D. Vance.
Vance is settling into his role as the Mouth of Sauron quite naturally.

US government is now officially a joke.

It is interesting to see Vance demanding more freedom of speech in Europe at the Munich conference, and later on notice the U.S. president constantly interrupting Zelenskyy, thereby denying him of that freedom.
