... But Iron Dome is nothing to do with the Patriot missile system, it's a completely separate design. It's also used against a totally different class of missiles. It's for targeting the short-range missiles used by the Palestinian resistance, and there are articles and statements claiming it's not effective against ballistic missiles, i.e. ones like the Soviet-developed Scud Missile. So bringing up Iron Dome really has no correlation to anything that was happening with Patriot. Here's a relevant quote:

Statistics like these are probably part of the wartime information campaign. We don't want the other side to know how effective or ineffective our defenses are. We also don't want them to know how effective their weapons are. That's why you only see Ukraine talk about Russian missile and drone attacks on civilian targets, while exaggerating the success of their defenses. If Russia can be made to think their weapons are becoming ineffective and only generating negative world opinion, maybe we'll see a reduction in their production and use.

Putin is not a narcissist like Trump. It's a classic "hyperprotective" schizoid thinking he's the only one who can save the MOTHER.....Russia.
They can be really REALLY dangerous people - not for childish incompetence like Trump but for the inhuman dedication to a cause and a latent omnipotency complex - because they're totally resolute and morally autonomous.
They're just the "ultimate strongman" or, if you prefer, the Old Testament God (that's the crystalline form of a schizoid).
In fact they're the polar opposite to narcissists and psychopaths.....but they can be really REALLY more dangerous (but not unpredictable like narcissists): they're not afraid a bit of the "apocalypse" scenario.

Perhaps we were lulled into a false sense of security relative level of peace and degree of optimism that followed WW2. It seemed to many, like fascism had been defeated permanently, or at the very least, it would never be more than a lunatic political fringe. I guess each generation has to learn in the present, the lessons it ignored from the past.
There's always the next South Sea Bubble, Tulip Mania, Subprime Scam or Pyramid Scheme. And there's always the next charlatan, crowing
