I think it was a Ukrainian operation, also like the undersea pipeline bombing. If you look at Zelensky's statement, he didn't say they didn't do it. He said we don't attack Russia or Putin, only defend our homeland. That would be true about this exploding drone if you see that it wasn't an attack. It was a message that they can reach into Russia when they need to.
There's a logic to a false flag operation too, and Russia is definitely being opportunistic about it, but there's also a risk that it unduly fires up the far right that is pushing Putin to win the war at all costs and is Putin's only real major threat. All in all, I'd bet on Ukraine.

A false flag within Russia over that is perhaps more likely to be some kind of factional infighting rather than Putin's lot dropping a bomb on themselves.

Dangerous ploy. In Tsar Vladimir's Russia, squeaky wheel gets greased. Or falls out of a window.
urgently: the PMC received a combat order, the "Wagners" should be given everything necessary to continue the assault on Bakhmut
e. prigozhin:
tonight we received a combat order for the first time
for all this time, in which, if you remove the secret data,
the bottom line is as follows: they promise to give us ammunition
and weapons as much as we need to continue
further actions, they swear to us that everything will be on the flank
exposed, which is necessary so that we are not cut
adversary, we are told that we can act
in Artemovsk as we see fit, and they give us Surovikin,
as the person who will make all the decisions
as part of the hostilities PMC "Wagner" interaction
from the Ministry of Defense, and this is the only person
with the star of an army general who knows how to fight,
among those with this star is an army general.
and another important detail, yesterday I was in our closed
chats specifically asked a question to all the commanders of the junior
link, which immediately brought to the fighters, if someone wants,
he can move to other military formations.
everyone unequivocally answered no, and in obscene language, of course,
characteristic of PMC "Wagner" form. It's just a theater to appease.

As part of their Victory Day celebrations, Russian terrorists destroyed a Red Cross warehouse with hundreds of tonnes of food aid for Odessa.

A Russian missile has destroyed a Red Cross warehouse containing thousands of tonnes of food and aid in a “massive” wave of attacks across the country.
Officials in the city of Odesa published footage of the 1,000-square metre building engulfed in fire after it was struck by a Kh-22 missile fired from the Black Sea.
Piles of smouldering food can be seen in videos shared on social media with firefighters struggling to douse the embers of the blaze.
One image showed the blackened remains of the warehouse building strewn across a nearby park.
“Humanitarian aid for the Odesa region, which was in a warehouse, was completely destroyed by fire,” the local branch of the Red Cross wrote on Twitter.
The aid group said none of its staff were killed or injured in the strike, but the remains of a lone victim, described as a “civilian security guard” by Ukraine's ministry of defence, were seen being removed from the wreckage in a bodybag by rescue workers.
“Hundreds of tonnes of humanitarian aid for Odesa residents were destroyed,” the ministry added in a statement. “Russia's priority target is civil objects.”

The attack was part of what was described as the “most massive drone attack” on the capital Kyiv since the start of the full-scale invasion in February last year.
Ukraine's Air Force announced it had shot down 35 Iranian-made kamikaze drones that directly targeted the city.
“This was the most massive drone attack on the capital during the entire war,” Vitali Klitschko, the heavyweight boxer turned mayor of the capital, told reporters.
Officials later announced that at least five people were injured in Kyiv after air defence units intercepted drones that fell on a residential building and parked cars.
Russian forces also launched 16 missiles at the cities of Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolayiv and Odesa, according to a statement from Ukraine's armed forces.
The massive aerial assault came in the build-up to Russia's celebration of victory in the Second World War on Tuesday.

I guess a universal feature of fascist tendency is getting off on the sheer perversity of kicking the powerless. One of more ironic parts of Putin & the Z idiots politicizing the Victory Day celebration as much as they have is the fact that Ukraine bore the lion's share of sacrifice in WWII in fighting the Nazis and ensured that Victory as much as anybody.
