Come back alive. Slava Ukraini! Glory to God!
EDIT: Do you know yet where you'll be stationed (if that's not a secret)?
No idea at the moment. But taking into account that I'm not the Rembo (far from it, actually) I suppose I would be doing some more or less peaceful supporting job. My physical condition simply won't let me running around with body armor and a rifle.

I'm home again (temporarily most probable, but still): they said that I'm not Rembo enough to be useful in the army. But the stupid conscription system won't allow them to forget about me so they will be constantly bothering me with conscription orders from now on. Not good.

Here's hoping they are so flooded with drones you get picked for that. Having a background in gaming should prove useful there. Slava Ukraini!

Well, this time I'm going for sure. All is packed, moving out in 30 minutes. :)
Don't forget about donations to the Ukrainian army. We would really appreciate that.

Oh man, take care.

Quote:
Damage appeared to be limited elsewhere in Ukraine, after air raid sirens sounded for hours through the night.
Ukraine said it shot down 15 of 18 incoming cruise missiles.
Officials in the capital Kyiv said there were no reports of civilian casualties or damage there.
The energy ministry said attacks had significantly damaged electricity distribution points in the southern Kherson region and central-eastern Dnipropetrovsk region, leaving thousands of people without power. Repairs to the grid were set to take several days, it said in a statement.
Ukraine's air defence systems have been bolstered in recent months by delivery of Western equipment, including the American Patriot systems received in April
This is heartening, Russia launched a large coordinated air attack in the middle of the night, most missiles shot down, 3 got through, there were injuries but no casualties.

But the electricity grid damaged another time, and so weapons/ammunitions deposits.
Russia can goes on and on for years this way, remember that, and just to accumulate russian deaths to justify to its people the use of the atomic weapons "We just do what USA did in Japan".
There's no other "strategy" and never was.
Qooper on 2/5/2023 at 08:05
lowenz, is there hope that you can offer?
Another perspective to "Russia can go on for years" is "The Ukrainian's will to defend their own country has only grown stronger".

I'm not here to offer "hope" to anyone, just to remind that dealing with a fascist state (so with no particular consideration to its own INDIVIDUAL persons because fascism sees the people as a body of perfectly disposable cells for the "greater good in the greater order") is hard IF you want to avoid an open total war (not of the Ukraine, but global).
And that fascist state can use nuclear weapons justified (as USA did) by their own citizens sent to death (so the more russians Ukraine kills the
better is for Russia as a state - of course is worst for people but people is not important in feverish war times when the state convinces the people it acts for the greater good - the "more just" future / order etc. etc etc. - with "heroism" and "motherland" and in general all the supportive idealistic rhethoric -
go sons and die for me, your mother).

I appreciate that you're open and honest about this. If you don't mind my asking, do you have hope but you're not here to offer it to anyone? Or you have none and that's why you won't offer any? I'm asking because you put quotes around the word hope, which makes it sound like you're cynical towards hope.
EDIT: To clarify where I'm coming from, I think hope is essential, which is why I'm zooming in on it.
lowenz on 2/5/2023 at 13:15
I have my hope to see defeated the "hybrid" fascist regime of Putin MORE than anyone can imagine ( I really hate the russian prokhanovism/duginism/neofascism as I've said before, i despise every spiritualistic+idealistic form of nationalism more than i despise a child killer, i really reject it as the ultimate corruption of the society organisation, a "perversion" taking political form) but I can't offer to others because those men can REALLY go nuclear when cornered, because they see in the use of atom the birth of USA supremacy they long for too when they talk about "multipolar world".
When a man like me see a man like Putin among the Kremlin walls and towers with the (empty) Red Star still standing I really see the ultimate corruption of a long time gone dream and the brutal face of the so called "democracy" (because yes, it's the democracy system that put the more demonic dictators in power)
