I'm in Part I, and I just used the
Yorick skull
to get into the tomb-ish place with all the lava. What do I do next?

Mr Munkeepants,
After placing the skull where it goes, use holy water arrows to kill the haunts.
Then wait for one of the tomb statues to slide out. Then this will lead to the area by the lifts. Be sure to have a look on the table too.

I got Half-Life about a month ago and it's occupied a lot of my time. Still, there's no way I could stay away from Thief.
Playing Ruined is a great way to come back.
I'm totally loving this pack. I'm in the first mission and in total heaven. Everything looks so well-arranged and all the little details fit in so well. The foggy atmosphere is captivating, but also calming in a way. I loved Konkurrenten, so I know I'll enjoy this.
Excellent work, Rostvogel. :thumb:

Still stuck in the room with the pipes and the toxic water. Tried rope arrowing into the pipes but it's very tricky. SO frusterating! :nono:

I'm sorry, the skull goes where now?
Got it!
where the other one currently is
so now, I have "find another way into the monastery" and get 3000c.
I have 1982c (or so), so the rest is in the monastery...?
how do I get in?
Or is this when I'm supposed to head down into the crack?

It is a bit tricky.
I used several rope arrows ( got from the dead archer, don't pick him up.) Then you can swing about a bit from one to the other to get in the right position. You don't seem to carry over any items to the next part so might as well use them.
Mr MonkeePants
If you still need 3000g there must be lots of places you have not been yet.
Use the lift key you would have found after opening the fire lock. Lots of things to find there. Have you found the gem cave, lots of hints about finding loot in this thread.
Don't go down the crack until you have been everywhere else.

sorry, I can't always tell which clue is for what puzzle.. and I don't want to spoil things before I give them a chance myself! I'm abour ready for a walkthrough, though :erg:
the monastery is a dead end, as far as I can tell (even after getting up onto the bridge -
just doors into nothing, right?
) I used the lift key, and
it just got me up to the little library in the cliff face
, where I had been before. Am I supposed to do something here? There seem to be a lot of grates that I can't move in this mission, could that be the problem?

Ruins Part 1
You are right about a walkthrough especially regarding loot and secrets.
Did you find a chest on an inbetween floor before going down to the bottom on the lift. In the pirates library accessed here, you will find a key and if you go out on to balcony, at each end there is a atatue to be collected. The thing is to bump up the loot collection. There are a few bits to be had underground but not much.
The monastery is not accessed in Part 1.

The walkthrough and updated lootlists will be available in a few days.
