Whoo! Ireland just got owned by the French forwards. That scrum where they were just annihilated was amazing. Ireland are totally underdogs against Argentina and rightfully so. If they don't up their game they'll be beaten easily. France need Ireland to beat Argentina in order to have an easier path to the final. If Argentina win the group, France have to play New Zealand. Although if they show the same class - maybe with a bit more discipline - as against Ireland, they could win!
Scotland are apparently being all cynical and resting their best players for the important game against italy, as they consider the NZ game a lost cause. Which is absolutely true of course but a shame nonetheless!
Bring on Samoa. Come on Engerland!

Now that was some ass-kicking I just saw on TV, despite some mistakes here and there... :D
I can't wait Argentina - Ireland, curious to see what will happen.

While I saw Ireland get done in the 2nd half, that scrum I think was when they were missing their no.5 (although the French scrums were better than the Irish generally from what I saw in the 2nd half).

This is true but they were being comprehensively beaten in the scrum on even terms and the French line-out was massively superior, as was the mauling, which made massive gains for France.

You could have telephoned this result in from last week. France were always going to win because they had to do so to qualify. I still believe Ireland can get to the quarter finals.

Well a win but no bonus points, not good that. Ireland better win against the Pumas now. I can't even decide who I want to win out of Ireland and France but I can't help but think that France are the Northern Hemisphere's only hope of salvaging some pride from this competition.
Hey but, Tonga ola atu - kick some Japan arse!

Bloody hell, Tongans were FANTASTIC !!!
One of the best game I've seen for a while. South Africans had a shitty game in 1st half, hopefully they managed to do something nice in 2nd half. But hell, Tongans resisted, they were powerful, they really deserved to win this game. Too bad they couldn't make it in the last seconds, so close.
Oooh I think england will be eaten next friday :cheeky:

Yeah SA put 2nd string in for the first half, but had to call in the big boys to save their asses. 2 Trys in 2 minutes, Tonga were amazing.
I'm glad they got the bonus point, they deserve to get far.

What a fantastic couple of games. I really thought the Tongans could have done it. If only that last ball hadn't gone out of touch... England weren't too bad this time! The Samoans weren't great but it gives me some hope for getting to the knock out stage at least ;)

I thought England were not much good except for their mauls and lineouts and some of their scrummaging. I thought Samoa was in with a chance until late in the game.
