That was the most dismal England performance I've ever not seen. Pathetic. 36-0.
In their defence SA was really on form. They kept England in their own 20, Montgomery clearly spent the week tweaking his weaknesses and Habana was spectacular as usual.
That pulled hamstring was really tragic.

Judging by their previous performances, I would rate Samoa as a real chance against England, it should be a great game

Samoa's previous performances or England's? ;)

Both.
Full kudos to Portugal for one of the most spirited performances I have seen in a while. These guys are amateurs (literally) and they managed to hold NZ to 12 in the first 20 minutes, not to mention scoring a try in the second half, and then holding the All Blacks out for 10 minutes. It really was impressive to watch these nobodies give the best nation in the world some serious headaches at points
EDIT: Just noticed that Georgia managed to really stretch Ireland 14-10, wow! I'm loving how minnows are being quite competitive this World Cup; it was really dissapointing to see the Cricket-style scores last time around.

On the other hand it means we have to put up with some incredibly patronising commentary. In Britain, anyway!
South Africa were fucking awesome, not that they needed to be against England. And yeah, Samoa are gonna be a real test, as I said earlier. They gave us a scare at the LAST World Cup fs.
Looking forward very much to France vs Ireland. That one should be a great game.

Hoping Ireland get stuffed itt

So far I would reckon on the bokkes or NZ getting it. Both are looking strong, although they havent faced any proper tests. quite dissapointed in Irelands play so far, and thoroughly enjoying the "minnows" fighting spirit. just hoping Romania dont fight to hard!!

Well Samoa have to beat England by more than 7 to really have a chance of knocking them out of the finals, and they'll be might pissed off after losing to Tonga, so it should be a good match. But man Samoa vs Tonga was a crackerjack game. Tonga managed to hold out Samoa for the last 10 minutes despite being down to 13 men, for a 19-15 win. This just keeps getting better and better

I was really surprised by Tonga winning, to be honest, I alwys thought Samoa were the bigger threat :o
We have Wilkinson back \o/ I'm officially starting a betting pool on how many minutes he'll play before succombing to a hilarious new injury. I'm betting on 34.
Scotland were surprisingly good looking against Romania and their match against Italy should decide the runner-up in group C, which should be good!

The first decent one from a northern hemisphere side so far. Actually maybe the minimum acceptable. N.Z will give Scotland a right good reaming and Italy will do them the same as well. :erg:
The French steamrolled Namibia pretty convincingly although Nam was down 1 man for the entire 2nd half.
