I had totally forgotten about 3P in TDS. I NEVER used it. In fact, after I looked up how to change perspectives, I went to play around with it & got the dry heaves from disorientation going back & forth. Lovely. I hate 3P. :sweat: I guess I better get an Rx for Phenergan if I'm gonna buy this game. The only thing worse would be 3D which I can't see.

Constant switching between 1st (sneaking) and 3rd person (climbing) perspective is probably the only thing that can prevent me from buying this game. It's much more important than Stephen Russell.
I'd say that this issue is really worth a petition (as it is something EM might reconsider).

This is my biggest issue as well from what we know about the game, as most other modernizations appear to be avoidable in one way or another. EM can just make the always first person mode off by default and put thousands of warnings and nag screens all over it.

Another fine example of how these teams have turned into pandering politicians. Just tell us that you guys like the third person camera switches because you get to show off some flashy animations, or whatever the real reason may be. Can they give us a reason why they can't make an option for first person, because I'd love to hear what they come up with.

My bet is they just want to throw their fancy mocap animeshuns they spent so much time working on at us, you know, something that's core gameplay and a recipe for a good game.

They hate you. I mean not like in a general "you're a Thief fan and thus an enemy to us" sense, but as in actually you...personally. They're keeping third person in there simply to piss you off.
And you're ruining it for the rest of us.
Also they don't like Skacky, either.
