I don't know if the only problem would be bad sound propogation, but even so that would effect both what/where the player and AI hear. I play with headphones on so it's very obvious when the sound propogation is odd or distant when it shouldn't be. If AI hear a noise they might look in the wrong place.

With show_player_room toggled on, does a white cube mean not touching a solid wall or connecting room brush?

If you mean the brush is displayed in white then I see that only if I have a terrain brush selected.

The command you need is "show_bad_rooms". Pink areas doesn't have room brush.

Unna is correct. With show_player_room, the white roombrush is the one you are in I believe.
