I have never done circular staircases because I could not figure out how to room brush them. Any suggestions?

Check out the big central tower in The Whistling of the Gears by Firemage, it's a long and tedious process but highly rewarding.

Best way is - don't use a cylinder. Do spiral stairs in a rectangle. If you do that, you don't need to worry about rooms spilling out of the cylinder because it's a box. Then, make the central pillar of the staircase an air brush rather than solid, and fill it with a tall object. That way you can just use one roombrush with the centre inside that hollow space/object pillar.
If you do use a cylinder, it's possible, but a PitA.

Forgot to say Thanks Nicked. Great advice. It would have solved a problem I had early on where I made a small pool with a fountain in the middle (sitting on a solid brush).
Remember the old expression “ love is never having to say you’re sorry?” I say “Dromed is never really knowing all the answers, but help is always nearby.”
Thanks

Adding on to what nicked said, I've found it best to use a fill-air cube and then fill in the corners with wedges to simulate a cylinder, like so: (

Sound of a Burrick In a Room). Makes roombrushing as easy as shift-insert :thumb: as you can see: (

My Favorite Year here: (

Personally, I've never had any issues just putting the roombrush down even if the center of it is inside a fill-solid brush for these staircases. I see other authors do it too, but maybe we're all spreading bad habits!

Roombrush centres in solid is one of those things that's technically bad practise, but 9 times out of 10 it won't cause any problems. But if you ever get audio cutting off where you think it shouldn't, show_player_room should be your first port of call.
