If FLCL was a full series, I'd agree, but I think it's exactly right at only six episodes. And if you follow along closely, it does end up making a surprising amount of sense, despite all the madness.

Yeah, five or six. But what difference does the length of the series make? The Ah! My Goddess OVA was just good as (better than, in fact) the series. And that's 5 episodes compared to 50.

I won't deny the possibility. I've started on things like GitS and Ergo Proxy and thought "Huh?" for quite a while until things started to click into place (though Ergo Proxy still doesn't completely make sense to me), so that may be the case here. Maybe I'll check it out on a rainy day or something, as it is an OVA and not a full-length series.

I haven't...but I do have a list of anime that I've heard of and want to see, and I think it's on there. If not, I'll add it.
