You have to go back to the place where you got the diary in the Nursery Tower on the podium is info for the Hag.
Second the top of the Staff Tower (in the first area/zone/level) is the LAST thing you do.
Thanks Acleacius. I had gotten it in my thick skull that I needed to do the 2nd before the 1st objective in my first post.
On my way out now!!!
Woot!

So when do you see the first undead? I'm a little to spooked to continue unless I know exactly where the zombies are.

I really cant play this level for more then 10 minutes before I end up freaking out and quitting.
PMFG! TWINS!
Yeah, that's what I was doing. Multiply 10 minutes times about 7 or 8 sessions, some whiskey (I'm not even fucking remotely joking), and just a tiny bit of "What the fuck would you be doing if you were over in Iraq, mutherfucker", and I completed it.
If you didn't go in completely, and I do mean *completely*, loaded with fire arrows and flashbombs and all the other good stuff, you should reload and buy everything before you go. It's nice to be able to walk around with flash bombs and fire arrows at the ready, and be able to select mines or holy water when possible.
The map is nice to have, but from what I hear, it's a bit of trouble to get. If you only use shop buyable stuff in the ship mission, and you clean out the catacombs with shop stuff, I might consider it. However, I went in without a map...

Did I mention? This was the first time I was ever actually scared playing a videogame. I'm an avid horror fan: I grew up watching stuff like Hellraiser, A Nightmare on Elm St and such. I've probably played every horror game worth a snot, including the Silent Hills, System Shock 2, Undying, AvP2, The Suffering... and so on. I eat Stephen King for breakfast and crap out Clive Barker in the afternoon. And this is the first time I've ever actually been scared playing a game. I'm about as jaded as they come and still, I actually jumped several times while playing this mission.
ROFL, I havn't started this mission yet but I'm really looking for it now. For those who like this stff, a couple of older games that should be able to be found are Blrair Witch volume 1 : Rustin Parr and another game called AMBER. Both had me sleeping with a light on for weeks LOL.

Ok I finished the Cradle, thank God, but there are some questions that didn't seem to be answered. I don't know if they're answered later but here they are
1. Why is the Cradle "alive"?
2. What started the fire?
If they're answered later then don't tell me, otherwise i'd like to know :)

Yup... I'll add my 'Scariest game moment in history' comment to the pile. I, like all of the other stupid bastards here, played this game in the dead of night. Mistake #1.
My friend was here with me, and he was flipping out on the whole trip to the attic. After getting up there, I took 3 warmup shots of 151 and stood in the open doorway for 5 minutes trying to get up the nerve to go look at the picture, I saved it and called it a night.
I just got off the phone providing emotional support for another friend who just started the mission.
Excellent work, null.

One of the freakest missions i have ever played in any thief game. This mission compared to the "return to the catheral" mission in T1 is way above in my ranks. The sound effects that were placed in that lvl were excellent
I had to stop for one day after hearing the tapping noise in the attic area. After going through that mission the very next day, the tasks reminded me of that old MTV show: FEAR. Examples: Obtaining the blood of the girl in the store room & locking yourself in the cage in the same room to get back in time, basically all the tasks asked by that girl totally reminded me of that show.
I still get the chills just think about that mission

Ok, so I sit here with 87% of the lights in the house on and was nervous as hell after reading this thread, plus a comment by a member of my forums who is just ahead of me in the game. So I get to the grounds, look all the way around (snagging the water arrows, which I some how dont think I'll need) and THEN realise I have to go in by way of the basement? Holy crap! To top that off it's still dark here and it's storming cat's and dogs. If I get to a scary @$$ part and the lights go out, well; if I never post on this site again you'll know. I didn't think return to the cathedral was too bad, I never finished that one because I got bored with the endless mummys that I couldn't get past.

Ditto, except I was even stupider and did it deliberately. Randy had idly mentioned a Haunted House level in an e-mail to me a while back, with reference to some chat about fear. Since I knew it was going to be good, I stopped playing mid-afternoon and waited until nightfall to properly approach the Cradle.
And played it on a wall projector.
Can you say "Fucking shat myself"? I knew you could.
