Well technically the guy was remembered by the cradle as "idiot that came here after it burned down" rather than "crazy guy who killed some people 50 years ago (or whatever it was)" so he wasnt remembered as an undead.
Besides, he might be there as a ghost, but you just dont see him. In the words of Lauryl "Something changed when you saw my picture, thats why you can see me now." So perhaps the reason you can see lauryl is that you remember her (or at least her form), so she can be remembered by someone else other than the cradle, who is within the cradle. Its not as if the puppets can remember anyhting...

Hmmm...garrett undead...
Good thing the cradle doesn't actually talk, then, well then, I would have a heart attack.

I'm playing "F.E.A.R." right now, which for the most part is a first-person shooter. However, it has an incredibly creepy storyline that regularly pops in and out with bits and flashes which remind me a lot of The Cradle. If you like first-person shooters and you liked The Cradle, you might want to check it out. (BTW, it's NOT like "Doom 3," which was a constant "BOO!" scary, not really creepy at all. You can also play it with a lot more sneaking and thinking instead of constant run-and-gun.)

F.E.A.R. was too much for me... I could take the Cradle, but FEAR scared me too much. Had to stop playing... I didn't want any nightmares.
Morale of the story: If the Cradle scared you a lot, do *not* play FEAR. It's the "The Ring" of video games.
...actually, it's damn similar to that movie in more ways. :weird: Might explain why it scared me so much... The Ring sorta traumatized me. I was 13 when I saw it- bad idea. :erm:

Movies I find cant really give the fear factor like the cradle, because most horror movies are about people screaming and running away. Plus you dont feel the atmosphere, which is like 60% of any horror greatness!

You don't have the same control to run away, you don't take it through like you would, yeah, taking away the atmosphere. And most horror movies don't have that huge sense of suspense. Really, cradle built just the right amount of suspense and then broke it in the scariest friggin way ever. 2 puppets charging at you when you are already shit scared from suspense can cause heart attacks...especially when you've checked the halls and found nothing...
Good thing I never saw that shadow in the hall of records (is that it?) or where it was. Being attacked after that
would have given me a heart attack, not just almost.

You mean the patient in the reception of the inner cradle, or the cups stacked up to look like a hooded figure in the meal hall?
Also, I find that a lot of the "horror" in horror movies is just caused by someone going "EEEK!!" for 3 hours solid. Natural human reaction, I guess, to be scared when someone else is screaming. As someone said before, the cradle isnt just a load of "boo!"s one after another, its like concentrated fear crammed into one place.

If null's still reading this thread, I would just like to whimper feebly and say "I hate you".

Heh, dont we all?
Also, Incredible work, truly incredible that the cradle is what it is. Okay, now to demolish it before it claims more!:ebil:

It has had an unanticipated side effect for me, in relation to my dealings with the undead:
I used to be a total wimp vis-a-vis any undead. But after I'd finished the cradle, and was following the ghost into the catacombs, and a couple of haunts and a zombie jumped out on me, I just blew them away without a second thought.
