What's this RTC that I've been hearing so much about?
Return to the Cathedral from The Dark Project. Probably the scariest official mission... until now, obviously.

The fuse:
If I remember correctly, it was on that first landing before you go down to the basement (in a little cubby where you find a message from one of the children stating they don't like all the rules now...)
Great job Null and rest of the team! At first when Garrett was talking about the Cradle being an orphange then an asylum, I was all like “that’s not so freaky.” When I found out that it was both at the same time… yeah… it was all over. Plus the sounds…. Eric is right: Fear is made of sound. Absolutely.

Hmm, Ok I was there and read the note, but I didn't see a fuse. I'll look again. Maybe it's not there until I do something else?

You will have to forgive me, I have tried to block memories of the cradle, as I was traumatized.
I was wrong.
It's in the attic... sorry. I think...double checking now
Just checked... yeah it's there.

Oh, okay. Well, I'm not going unless someone tells me who (what) is BEATING ON THE FREAKING DOOR!!!! AAGG!! I assume it's
the girl that tells me what to do and "gives me my assignments"
Has anyone tried ghosting (no pun intended) the Cradle on Expert? I've run into a snag: I need to get
the golden teeth from the Morgue. But I can't because, as soon as I sneak in, the puppet on the floor stands up and sees me. I can't think of a way to sneak past it without killing it.
Does anyone know if Holy Water kills count as kills at the end of a mission, or if they count as damage you've done?

Perhaps I didn't phrase it correctly, but I'm sure that there were certain size limitations that he had to work with. Possibly other design restrictions that wouldn't be readily apparent. I'm just curious if the place was exactly how he imagined it or if this was just a small sliver of the terrors he had in mind. ;)
I could have gone on and on and on, with unlimited time and resources. ;)

Spoiler tag time!
Alright, so I was wrong about Gamall torching the place... looks like one Ms. Wrenfield decided to use her bed to make a bonfire in cell #9, apparently after some careless staffer forgot to take the fuel out of her tinderbox. How the fire spread so quickly or thoroughly I don't understand, but it seems that the staircase to the staff tower was especially hard-hit- and that the staff probably never had a chance to escape.
The chair, though... I'm not seeing the significance. A hint? I really want to figure out what went on in this place- it's starting to bug me. :weird:
Actually, you're close.
(Incidentally, the mission was designed so that you'd be asking what happened, and interpreting on your own. This, while it's the story I had in my head, isn't the only interesting interpretation). But hey, it's a spoiler forum.
Mystery-Spoiler:
The burnt material in her cell was just the beginning. She went on to set fire to the Staff tower (urged by the charismatic maniac King No-One -- No.1 -- get it?), and sat down to watch. Hence the chair, and the reason why there's nothing left of the Staff to animate except memories. The entire Cradle didn't burn down. Just the authority, and the nursery tower. Anything elevated (and thus made of lighter material) was doomed.
