I'm enjoying it so much I decided to bestow upon it the greatest honor I give a game, it's own thread. Here's a video by Kotaku. Yes, KOTAKU, they're good at making videos now. I don't know when that happened, but here we are.

I've played this thing for 7 hours now, made it to level 16, deep into Phantom territory and close to the end. The more I play it the more I'm impressed by the gameplay. I will now invoke several classic videogame tites in describing the gameplay, so you can really understand how GOOD it is. This blend of violent combat arcade racing reminds me a lot of my all-time favourite arcade racer, BURNOUT 3. The way you have to wind up your attacks, time them carefully, weave in and out, reminds me of the combat in DARK SOULS. You can even parry. And don't forget the kick, it's super-useful for pushing an opponent who's about to hit you out of range, not to mention super-satisfying to kick dudes off bridges and into oncoming traffic. And then there's the boost-system. You gain booster-fuel by killing enemies, which leads to a very satisfying loop of killing dudes so you can keep propelling yourself forward to kill yet more dudes and win the race. If you're a real badass you can keep gunning dudes down as you boost forward, each killing keeping your boost going. This risk-reward mechanic is like something outta DOOM 2016 or BLOODBORNE. Ok that's enough. This is a good game, folks, just thought you might wanna know.

Dunno about the game, but that review was about the best thing ever.
I used to know some kids like Road Rash guy. They'd always be like "HEY BRO, WHAT TAPES YOU HAVE FOR YOUR GAMEBOY? I GOT MORTAL KOMBAT!" Then he'd break out his Mortal Kombat cartridge he always carried around with him. It was crazy.

Bro I totally had Mortal Kombat for the GameBoy as well. It only had 1 punch button and 1 kick button and I couldn't figure out how to do any of the special moves, but I still totally beat it, dude.

Brah? You rock, brah. Respect.
...though the Game Gear version was better. :P

And that's that. I have beaten the game! I HAVE REDEEMED THE ROAD! Rest easy, gentle road, your struggle is over. I upgraded my shovel into a sledgehammer and caved in every face I could find, so that your honor might be restored.

To this day I'll still play Road Rash 3 on my phone on my train commute sometimes. True story.
Really satisfying gameplay.
I imagine this game has that rush too, although I'm happy with my phone emulator version.

Not played many games that were like Road Rash. There was that combat bit in Full Throttle that was half half. Thats about the only game that springs to mind.
