Tragic to have a life cut so short, he was only 52. City 17 and Dunwall are quite the legacy - his concept art was spellbinding.
I used to wonder on and off over the past few years what new visions he had in store for gaming. Guess we'll never know.
Here's an (
https://www.eurogamer.net/how-viktor-antonov-turned-from-building-cities-to-planets) interview from 2019 on one of his projects that looked like it was going to be something else.
Edit: Looks like it's a web3 crypto mining MMO called Life Beyond, sigh. Well, the interview's still a good one.

RIP Viktor. Those were two masterpieces. HL2, best FPS ever. They don't make 'em like they used to. Not just games, but devs.

The guy knew how to light the imagination on fire with a big flame even when the spaces weren't that big, so much he defined his own genre. Can't compliment an artist much better than that. Sad to see him gone so young, as I'm sure he had many more worlds to show us.

Too goddamn young. Of the many things I don't like about HL2, his architecture and art style are certainly not among them and were quite brilliant just as they were in Dishonored.

Rest in peace Viktor. The world is a lesser place without you.
