I suspect most of you don't know who that is, nor do you care. However, it's like the 3rd famous Aussie to die this week.
He was a racing car driver. He died in a racing car.
I think something is afoot.
Anyway, thought someone should make a post about it.

3rd? I only knew of one other famous Aussie this week.
Waiting on the obligatory comment from Grand High Cuntmaster Germaine Greer to say: The road has finally taken its revenge.

Yeh now this guy has got my respect...
He embodied true mastery of what he did. And was a great ambassador for safe driving, as well as a genuinely decent bloke. His interview on Denton was one of the most interesting I have seen.
Truely missed

Recent events would appear to cast doubt on that assertion.

The other one was Colin Thiele, the author of Storm Boy, Scots.
He died the same day as Steve Irwin after a few days in hospital with heart trouble. His death wasn't as publicised though because of Steve Irwin's death, and the fact that he was 85.
I remember collecting Brocky matchbox cars when I was little. He was the best.
R.I.P to all three.

At first glance I read this as "RIP Peter Buck".

You'd expect though, that if the founder of one of the most notable bands of the last 25 years were to snuff it, the R.E.M. fanbois would be able to come up with a more imaginative title than "RIP Peter Buck".

Christ your an ass stronts (I feel a bit dumb stating the obvious like this). But do you even have any idea who this bloke was? Yes it is ironic that he was killed in a car crash, but in a time where drag racing down your back lane at two in the morning is fully sick, this guy did actually promote safe driving. Both by leading by example (his control and mastery of driving has been unparalleled down here), and developing advanced training schools he did his utmost to try and reduce fatalities on the road.
