Holy shit.
Never a Stig when you need one.

This is shit indeed, although part of me can't help feeling it was as inevitable as Steve Irwin being killed by a dangerous animal.

In hospital after a tragic jet-car accident? That's definitely a problem fitting of a Top Gear presenter.
Any idea how "critical" this is though?

Even more sad given that this is one of the most entertaining, original programmes on the BBC at the moment, and will only fuel the handbag waving crowd of stay-at-home loons who would wrap us in cotton wool 24/7 and ban Top Gear as some kind of taboo filth.

The last line of that report is a bit dark, given the circumstances.
I've not seen Mr Hammond on Top Gear, but did watch some hilarious SCAM BUSTING programme with him on where he would pester pyramid scheme evil-doers and so-forth. It was quite good.
And this is entirely unconnected and not at all important, but how come so many people think the word hamster has a p in it? It seems to happen strangely often.

Ouch. I love Top Gear. Hope he turns out alright.

Yeah, I love watching TopGear, he is indeed irreplacable. :(

A Shame :( I'm sure he'll bounce back, that lovely man.

God damn that sucks, Top Gear is one of the best, if not the best TV show on at the moment, and it's the presenters that make it so damn good.
Here's hoping he makes a quick recovery :)
