Just for fun, I figured I'd kill Helseth.
I've completed the Mournhold quest (as far as I know):
Almalexia = deceased
Helseth = likes me, gave me some royal guard armor
The rest is probably little stuff, along the lines of killing the Warlords and whatnot (btw, does anyone know if this can be done without murder one? :p) so I decided, what the hey, he's fair game now, right?
However, I got that silly "You broke the thread of the prophecy! *rasp*" message.
Am I mistaken in thinking that I'm finished, or is he safe enough to kill, regardless of said message?
Thanks ;)

This message will always apear even if the character in question has played his part.
When you have
killed almalexia and talked to helseth then the hole main quest is done
so you can kill whoever you want :ebil:

Heh... what if he plays a part in an expansion?
And while you're gonna kill Helseth go ahead and go for Tienius Delitian too. He has a pretty good sword called Grave Digger.
This doesn't apply to you but if you want another good sword called King's Oath (spoiler):
[Taken from UESP because I'm too lazy and have a memory span of 2 seconds]
1. Speak with Tienius Delitian in the Royal Palace Throne Room and agree to help him find the anonymous writer of The Common Tongue papers.
2. Speak with people to be directed to a bookshop or pawnshop.
3. Talk with Ten-Tongues Weerhat in the Great Bazaar Pawnshop to learn of Trels Varis in the Craftsmans Hall of Godsreach (high disposition needed).
4. Find the locked door in the Craftmans Hall, which leads to a secret area with Trels Varis.
5. Convince Trels to stop printing the Common Tongue document. (You must donate 3000 gold to the Orphans fund. Don't worry, you'll get your money back AND the King's Oath when you: )
6. Return to Tienius.
If he's done with the main quest he should already have
two somewhat good swords;)
Also there is a sidequest to kill helseth. I don't think bethseda would have done that if he was to be used in later expansions.

sure :)
The old king who died (forgot his name) was supposedly killed by Helseth. If you go talk to the king's (the dead one) wife (or widow now:) ), she asks you to revenge his death. She lives in Godsreach, in (king's name) manor.
Being picky here, but I'm not sure that really qualifies as a sidequest, sappe, since it's not fully developed. It looks to me like agreeing to avenge King Llethan is no more than a way to get in good with the widow as part of a quest for Tienius at the Palace.... It doesn't go anywhere after that (disappointingly) regardless of what you do, or don't do, to Helseth.
Why kill him, anyway? He's foxy ;)

I'm one of those people that don't care about things like that. I just want all the cool weapons (namely all the artifacts) :cheeky:

ok, I have to change my definition of sidequests :)
what do you call the small quests you get when talking to people?
ex. exorting people to Hla Oad and they give you some nice boots.
