And, of course, the logs. The logs really do push the game to a new height. They are all really good, especially Hawkins and Nelson.
:wot::wot::o:o:o Nelson? The gal? My face is about 10 times as red as my hair right now . . . :o:o:o

HEY AJARE! Thanks for your review. I'll take all the good with the bad :) Of course I admitted to myself that I'd never feel that the missions were done. New ideas always come. Aside from the limitations of me being only one man to build levels and do most of the stuff, I must say that Zylonbane had a huge part in not just the extra content but in suggestions and cool ideas. He would see what I was trying to do and suggest how to improve it or make it more immersive.
ThiefsieFool sent me a PM and a review, and I'm glad to see that a lot of the little and big details get noticed, such as the shuttle flying overhead in the first level and the guy floating out in space.
Boy have I felt bad about the spawning issue. As a level designer and builder, it's hard to get a good idea of what other people think of it before they playtest it. I'm able to play through the missions no problem, but someone who gets lost all the time may be dying constantly.
BTW, how long did it take you to play through the missions? I spent sometimes almost an hour just on the first level doing everything. Have you found all those secret passages and areas???
You said "BLAYDES MARRY ME"... well, uh, I'm flattered. My wife wouldn't appreciate hearing that, but I'm sure your just so excited that you gotta say something! :laff: I hoped you liked playing through it and I hope that it makes you want to play SS2 again or build a world of your own for other people to play through.
Oh, what's all this stuff about the monkey and the suit of armor? Where is that? I don't remember putting that in there...

I also told you not to release 1.0 without having the internal testers look at it first, but did you listen to me? Nooooooo.... :cheeky:
All this feedback should make 1.1 really great though.

Incidently who did the computery female voice? I think its a lot better than the Xerxes one from SS2. I presume one person recorded it (TNT?) and someone else remixed it?

The computer voice was synthesized. ZB found a site that does it. We did the stuffy female british voice. Works really well doesn't it? The fact that it's synthesized is actually a good thing because she represents a computer AI voice.
ZB prepared all the voices in-game and I did the cutscene voices.

lol she doesn't sound stuffy, maybe haughty is the right word? Good voice though :)

I saw those two too, I just forgot to mention I saw them. I went :wot: when I saw that poor bastard. :thumb:

I think I did most of the stuff in the first level, not sure about the rest. I think my first time through my game time was a little under 3 hours, according to System Shock 2, but I'd say it was closer to about 6 hours all together. For someone who often looses interest in a mission that takes more than 1 hour to finish, that's saying alot. :thumb:

I didn't do it!

Okay, I've been wondering who/what did it for a while, I figured that's what it was. Now I can make sure I don't get any more misdirected compliments on doing that voice.

I spent about an hour on Titus/Garden - the respawning kept me quite busy :) - and about and hour and a half on the rest, so two and half hours in total.

Oh, I'm sure we can come to some mutually beneficial arrangement. :joke:
Yes, it was under the 'mindless praise' heading.

See, this is the thing: playing through something like this is inspiring enough to make me want to make my own...three seconds of ShockEd later, I realise I'm not quite
that inspired.

One of the respawned monkeys was carrying a light armour suit. Also, I was under the impression that the power cell I couldn't find was on a monkey (that I had forgotten to frob and had subsequently disappeared), but it seems that it's just well-hidden?
Anyway, I'll give it another play through this weekend, and see what I missed.
