I'm 7 hours into this and getting increasingly obsessed. I've identified maybe 60-70% of the crew and I'm at the point where I'm scribbling down details and taking notes of what kinda shoes everyone is wearing.
It's great.

aaaaaand finished!
100% even.
Well, that was great. The game both looks and sounds amazing. I really liked the design of the sea monsters. And I just loved the whole process of deducing the answers.
Not sure what to call this genre, but it kinda feels like it belongs in the same one as Tacoma and The Invisible Hours, in that it's one of these time-traveling mystery-solving things. Obra Dinn is a lot more demanding of the player than those others however, in that you have to demonstrate you've actually figured it out, whereas those other 2 are a lot more hands-off and just let you figure stuff out for yourself without having to prove that you get it. I liked those other 2 a lot, but I actually prefer Obra Dinn's more concrete gameplay system.

I've only played it a bit so far, but it reminded me a lot of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (the investigative part, not the visuals obviously).
