Okay. So, I got the Deed. Yep. 5000 gold worth of it.
Of course, they didn't bother to give me a map of where to find it /exactly/. As with RL, I find myself wandering around, trying to find the place that is South of Balmora on the /Northeast/ Coast of the Odai River. A river that, I might add, runs to the Southwest.
So, where the heck is it? Should I be looking for a Manor? Or just a bare plot of land? Where exactly should I go from here in order to ... well, /own/ a place?

From Balmora head south on the right side of the river. Keep a look on the mountais on your right and there should be a sorta path heading higher when you reach about as south as hla Oad, youll get a area transition name thingy telling your at Odai Plateau when you get close enough.
The spot is also marked on the paper map of the game (at least its on mine).

Okay. So, I've found Odai Plateau. Now what?
Maybe I missed something. What exactly does this have to do with the land deed? I must have missed something in-game, or something, because I guess I was expecting a manor, not a large plateau.
Could someone please clarify, then, on what one does once one gets the land deed? At the moment, I'm still trying to figure out if there /is/ a Rethan Manor, or if the land needs to be developed, or something.

You have to go back to the person who told you to get the deed, then they will tell you 'construction will be completed shortly' or somesuch, then you have to wait a week or two (ingame) for it to be built.

The fellow in Hlaalu Manor in Balmora gives you a hand. He's the guy that tells you about the deed in the first place. This is a heads-up, in case anyone else is having problems.
Of course, now I have to ask a stupid, stupid question. Where the f*$@ is the Duke? Gotta ask him for the construction permit.
Stupid bureaucracy. Stupid Duke. God damn Mongorians!

Ebonheart, inside the actual castle (the one that dead-ends one of the bridges), and up a stairwell.

yeah, he's a fancy person behind a strong looking guard with shiny armor (that i desire badly). just give him his word or sumthing that you'll use your stronghold to help protect the land or something blablablablabla, you'll get it much cheaper than the land deed (free  )
