What is the trick to the Earth Stone? I've been to the cave of the winds and touched the stones in time with the music many times, it still won't complete the quest. HELP?

You might notice that when you're watching the stones, the wind comes through different tubes than it does when you're playing the stones.
You have to listen to the tune they play, then pick out that tune for youself after. It's like a game of Simon, or Memory. IIRC, you have to do it 2 or 3 times in a row to proceed.

Also, like most quests in Morrowind, if you've moved on and done something important, your journal will be updated. So when you get the sequence right, your journal will say so.

Meh. My speakers weren't working for that one, so I had to guess the first sequence. Then I got fed up after a further 10 minutes of guessing and had to look online. The pattern is always the same.
