"textfont" is the default font. You have to, y'know, change it to something else.
intrface\fontaa12
intrface\fontaa16
intrface\fontaa20
intrface\fontaa29
intrface\fontaa36
I'm not sure this is accurate, ZB. Several places on this forum I've found lines for copying and pasting into a .cfg file, and they all recommend intrface/textfont for large font (and intrface/smalfont for small font).
Nevertheless, I tried your approach, and it also seemed to have no effect.

ZB's changes worked fine for me, you can even set it to f_scrp16.fon:

If you change to a larger font, you will probably want to enable and increase gfh_height (mine in that shot is 180 rather than the default 120) and also status_height.

Which .cfg file are you putting the line of code in? Nothing I do seems to affect the font.

Ah, I got it sorted. And textfont works just fine (as do ZB's other suggestions, although they are unnecessary).
Yes, "textfont" is the default. But the intrface default is different from the editor default.

I won't update too many of these threads that talk about this topic, but just in case anyone is searching the Editor's Guild and turns up this one about Resizing the Dromed interface fields, some things have changed since NewDark was released.
Basically the steps work fine, with the exception of where the font files are now located. In NewDark they got moved from RES\Intrface.crf to RES\EDITOR.crf
{Edit: as vfig pointed out, it's better to add the fonts you want to use to the EDITOR subdir instead of modifying the editor.crf file. That way, original files remain intact and your additional fonts in the EDITOR subdir will be available..
See this thread: (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140011) }
You can then edit your DROMED.CFG file with the following lines and leave your favorite uncommented (no ; at the beginning) like this:
;gui_font editor\textfont
;gui_font editor\fontaa12
;gui_font editor\fontaa16
gui_font editor\fontaa20
;gui_font editor\fontaa29
;gui_font editor\fontaa36
;gui_font editor\f_scrp12
;gui_font editor\f_scrp16
I spent way too much time trying to figure this out tonight. Hopefully this will save someone else the trouble.
(Did I miss something? Because I've got Thief 2 updated, then applied T2Fix, but this was driving me crazy.)
