If you do this it tells you how to best target them and says you will do more damage. Do you have to keep the researched objects in your inventory for this to work, or can you throw them away after research is complete and you will still get the benefit?

Some organs you may not have encountered yet are usable items after research, just keep that in mind. :)

Yeah but mostly it'll take ages before you actually spend cyber modules on researching them (like the Crystal Shard... only got to research that when I was in The Body Of The Many...)

Only on higher difficulties, on Easy or Normal it is pretty affordable.
And remember we shouldn't spoil too much for him. (assuming it's his first runthrough)

once you are done researching organs drop them into a grav shaft and watch them bob up and down.
