I noticed my rep shot up about 40-50 points after I started and finished the main quest. I became master of 7 factions(list em' yerself), and I'm level 102... anyone who hasn't heard of me will make me flip out and totally chop their heads off.
I'm usually in the 70ish range with people I haven't met, and the people are all like, "Omg, you totally pwn, plz don't chop my head off"
But I do anyway.

Heh most people I meet(commoners atleast) gasp when I walk by and stutter for a response when I speak to them....it's a real nice feeling =P
Then there are the dreamers who whine and I end up killing them anyways....rep is at 54 now after doing a few good-will quests.I'm only archmaster or redoran and about halfway through the legion as far as guilds....want to join the morag tong but too lazy to head out to Vivec,the ords get on my nerves anyways, always trying to jump me in a back alley....I must have killed 100 of them so far...you'd think that'd do something for rep, even if it wouldn't be positive.

If it wouldn't lag out I could probably kill every single morrowind inhabitant at one time... That's enough to get a good reputation *grin*

My reputation is 255. It's been that since before I was master of even one guild. Now I'm head of the all of them... and still my rep sticks at 255. Can't figure it.

Can't figure it. well, it's probably a single cell HEX-value... the greatest number possible is then FF - which is equal to 255 in decimal value... How you got that I don't get - at alle... exploited a money/rep. loop-bug within the game?
Personally I've got like 45-50 -and yeah I've been a nice guy!
Tuco on 29/5/2002 at 03:44
*nod* either a bug or something like, player-> setreputation 255 got put in the game.
I'm betting it's a bug though.
It's quite amazing how many people I've killed for no apparent reason... but to the trained eye there was a valid reason... This one person got in my way in a doorway, so I killed the entire city of Vivec.

It may very well have been a bug. It wasn't a cheat (I haven't opened the console once). I did a bunch of Blade missions at first, (and all the favors that went along with that), did the favor for the guy at Fort Monmouth (that helped), then spent a lot of time doing every single "good Samaritan" missions everywhere I went. I didn't get involved with any guilds or major quests for about 40 "days" into the game. It didn't jump up all at once, either. It started going up when I solved the missing tax collector at Sedya Neen, went up a LOT when I figured out the missing people at Vivcc, and kept climbing as I did all the little crap tasks that every house/person/group gave to me. Didn't kill anyone for the longest time. Never got caught stealing, and got everyone up to a high Attitude real quick. Again, though, I don't know if that would account for all this. I might have to post something at the official forums and see if someone knows anything about this.
{EDIT} Hold it! I did use the Hhrellu Manor Money Bug for a while (actually didn't know it was a bug until I read a thread at ElderScrolls about it)! I wonder if that could have done it! Does everyone know about this? That may have been it - everytime I get more money, the rep also goes up. That could very well be it. {/EDIT}

*nod*
I doubt that it's the little crap that gets you up... I spent most of the first part of my playing MW doing the little stuff, and got like... rep of 4... then I did the house quests etc, all the faction mastery and got 10... 2? something like that.
even if one explorer everything in morrowind, I highly doubt they could get over 200(hence the bug you probably encountered)
