I wish the Tea Party would learn what it's talking about. The problem is that the image it wants to show is not the same as the image it actually portrays. It wants to be a party of angry American citizens fed up with how the government is running things- how is that at all a bad thing? After all, how many people rallied against the Bush administration or disagreed with his policies? But what it actually shows, and I place more blame on the rather crazy core as opposed to the rest whose only crime is ignorance, is a group of angry semi-racists playing Chicken Little because they think Obama is the antichrist or whatever without ever bothering to actually think things through. It doesn't help that their rhetoric is disgustingly stereotypical.
Still, as far as crazy people blathering about politics goes, birthers and 9/11 truthers share the top spot for Absolutely Fucking Bonkers for me.

I think the key thing to notice is the tea baggers formation did not happen during the Bush years when things were seriously going to hell debt-wise. Nope. They formed as opposition to a democratic presidency which has barely gotten on it's feet. It was less than a year before republicans began to blame Obama for the finacial mess incurred during thier glorious leaders time. Either the tea baggers are disingenuous or total idiots. Quite possibly they are the result of intentional manipulation which disgusts me to no end.
Lately I've come to believe the republican party is purposely grooming assasins from it's pool of unbalanced rabid antiliberal gawdandcountry prymycolddeadfingers crowd. After what they have done to the supreme court I don't put anything past them.
Lookit me, I'm a conspiracy nut.

Actually, the republicans didn't oppose the massive government spending when Bush was president for the same reason many liberals did oppose it then but don't now, and that's because they approve of what it's being spent on - it's not being wasted in their eyes. I don't see a conspiracy, I see liberals who were screaming about funding endless wars who arn'tl anymore (while we're still at war, just one which they approve) and visa versa for the pubs.

That's a pretty damning indictment of their judgement, then.

If I were watching America's current situation from afar I'd probably think the entire ordeal was pretty amusing. Unfortunately, I live here.
Watching these people bicker even as our country is half under water is just disgusting. I hope they administer all the blame they can while we still have a two-party system. Between the trifecta of insurmountable problems America is currently facing: almost 13 trillion dollars worth of debt, an oil supply that is (
http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2010/apr/11/peak-oil-production-supply) quickly drying up, and a conglomerate business core that only seeks to rape its customer base, I'm pretty certain this country isn't going to make it through the next decade intact.

But all we have to do is grease our asses good and point them at every corporate dick that happens along according to Limbaugh and Beck. Actually what they do is divert attention with THERES AN ABORTION IN THAT TREE and LOOKOUT AN IMMIGRANT IS TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING while linking Obama with breast cancer. Meanwhile they try to gauge just how much shit thier own fawning audience will swallow. The latest is that corporate donations recently made legal in any amount to candidates should be able to be kept secret. Why not? Hell, we ruled corporations are just like individuals right? I know when I look in the mirror I see billions to buy politicians with.
I've got to stop listening to them and understanding how big money is ruining the US and just accept that the evil fucks are going to destroy us. They are cultivating an army of zombie gun nut homophobe xenophobes who will gladly strangle the last vestige of free thinking as it lays sleeping in the crib and I've just got to accept we are torn between the greedy and stupid and nobody will remember what we could have been. Mad Maxland here we come and I don't have nearly enough assless chaps.
