On the subject of turrents, I find it funny that the "blast" turrents are next to the most vital equipment on the bridge, wouldn't it be better to have a laser turrent so if it missed it would only short-out the system instead of blowing it up? It also helps hacking the bottom one so you get get past the psi reaver without shotting it.

yeah, you'd think that they would be more concerned about damaging the ship... of course it was falling apart at the seams anyways...

Just finished the game on impossible, had waaaay to much unused equipment, but thats because im somewhat of a pack rat. The ending certainly makes it open to a sequel in my opinion. (never got the end sequence to work until now, new codecs etc)

1. Turret. TURRET. Say it after me. Got it?
2. You have absolutely no idea how a laser works. Lasers burn holes in things. Having parts of the ship in multiple pieces that can hopefully be repaired is far better than having a great big fused hole where the electronics used to be.
3. The turrets were portable. Someone set up the turret(s) after the attack.

wouldn't it be more prudent to put the chaingun turrets near sensitive machinery? Also, wasn't it the VB security that set 'em up?

It's still a rapid-fire automatic cannon, so no, not really. There's no real sensible reason for the guns to be anywhere near vital equipment.

No, see above. Besides, I'm pretty sure the infected crew set many of them up.

Do you think Jean-Luc Picard would set up rocket launcher turrets on the bridge if they were borded by an alien infection ?
edit: If so, i´d like to see how that episode turned out!

Would a member of the crew, having been possessed by aliens and gone half-insane?

In one of the logs on Engineering Broson said she had them set up.

Well, that explains it. ;)
EDIT: Good luck with your "Impossible" play through! Next time, try it wrench only! Good fun!
