You can disable security first, by hacking a security panel, then get close to the turret and hack it. But you don't need to hack security to be able to hack a turret. As long as you can get close enough to the turret whilst remaining out of its line of fire, you can hack it.

Wow... I can't believe I never knew that... Time to get Hack 4.

A tip. When you have disabled the security and are about to hack a turret next to another turret, don´t stand in the middle of them as they will start blasting eachother with you in the middle.........

Either be very quick in hacking the other turret as well, or put something in between them, such as an envirosuit.

Never tried that part of the tactic, I'll go try that soon :)

As long as it is well placed, it will effectively prevent the turrets from shooting each other.

That's not what happens to the turret right outside the bulkhead room in engineering.
Er, where is this exactly? I'm not recalling that turret...

The bulkhead room is the one that has two laser turrets inside, on each side of the bulkhead. Just outside that room, on the right side of the door, there's a slug turret.

Hacking turrets? Wow. This is why I always come back to these forums.

Unless people always play as a gung-ho marine, I wonder how is it possible not to consider the possibility that turrets or laser cannons could be hacked.
