My old 8600GT finally bit the dust and I'm pretty much broke. There are so many freaking cards out there I have no idea what to replace it with, but I need to keep the price down. I was doing some browsing and saw this Radeon 4650 for around 50 bucks and an Nvidia 9600GT for ten or 20 bucks more. Are these cards as good as the 8600?
I'm no graphics whore and my old card served me well for over 5 years so anything comparable to that would be great. I'm kind of wary about Radeons because they've given me problems over the years however with my cash being so low I don't really care at this point. Just looking for a low to mid range card.

The 9600GT is the series-9 version of the 8600, so they'll be similar except the 9600 will be slightly better. 8600GT has a fillrate of 8.64 x10^9 textures/s, whereas the 9600GT has (

Of course, it's not all about textures/s, but that's what most people want out of their graphics cards. You may find the Green version slightly cheaper (it has slightly lower specs but requires less PSU power).
