But it seems kind of strange... What about the skill that lowers cost for items? Do you have to check how many coins you have and then check afterwards just to find out how much money you saved (spended)?

Yes. I wonder how it is possible to barterI, but I suppose (hope) that they have found some way to do that.

I think it makes actually sense to not have dialog choices (I always felt cheated when 3 different choices let to the same action path in the game, or when I had to try them all to not miss something).
But about the sleeping, can I please have a stern word with the tester(s) in questions? *starts to bundle firewood, kindles, a flint.-stone, some stake and hands out pamphlets about the new "event for the entire family"*
I liked the sleeping. Made it more immersive.

Yes well the testers didnt. And if the developers decide to remove something i'm going to trust them on it since Arx is such a great game.

Fortunately, we are not all alike and do not all like the same stuff.

:nono: What is that supposed to mean? :sly: Perhaps you would like to compete with the Arxs crew and try to make a better game? :eww: :sly:

Ok, this is a longshot but anyway... if the code for sleeping is already in the game, I hope they include it as an option (maybe even with the need for water as well, call it Hardcore Adventurer or whatever). I feel they are already aiming for a little bit too simple.

If it's realistic but not fun, it's out of the game.
For me, realism is fun.

Yes... you should have been a tester. To bad your not.

Well, with all due respect to everyone in the forum, and everyone who worked on Arx, I must say that I do find it a little surprising that Arx is shaping up to be, in some ways, a simpler game than Underworld was. After all, UW is about 10 years older than Arx. Here are a few things that UW has that Arx apparently doesn't:
- sleeping
- branching conversations
- containers in inventory
- NPCs that get mad when you take their stuff (I love that!)
- bartering with NPCs
These are a few of my favorite things about UW, so it's a little disappointing that Arx doesn't have them. Still, I can see that the Arx designers have a good grasp of game design logic and general playability, so I'm confident that the game will not really suffer from the lack of them.
