Hey folks!
Well, I'd like to report the following thing:
In the mission where JC is supposed to send an alert message to the NSF around the world, you have to activate satellite dishes, via 2 computers. Right? Right.
Only, everytime I played the game, whereas I had everything locked and loaded (passwords acquired, UNATCOs eating dust for the most), I could never EVER activate the dishes. Or maybe have one move gently, and that's it. Yes, I entered both codes correctly in both computers, since I received a trasmission from Paul telling me the message was not sent correctly. Then, reloading 10000 times would never really change anything, and still Walton Simons was pretty pissed off at me (switching some weird thing in my poor head).
Well, basically, that's all, I could never make it work, and the mission remained 'incomplete' all game long... So? Care to give a little hand? Please?! :thumb::mad:

If you got the message, he should've also mentioned that Jock had arrived to bail you out on the top of the building, along with Gunther. If this didn't happen, well, I dunno... make sure you've got the latest version, I guess. There's prolly someone else here who knows a bit more about it. :)

Go in the spacial options part on the computer and only click the first button. Now go back and transmit the message.
This worked for me so it work for you too. If it doesn't than there's something wrong with you game(can't think of what it could be).

Yup, thats a bug. I had it as well. I just played the game through with the mission saying incomplete.
With my game, it didnt appear when i started my game again from the beginning.

OK, well I asked the same question all around the planetdeusex.com forum, and the answer I got was very different. Cyborg, you might be interested if you had the same pb (even if it's not exactly crucial, but still...). Apparently, it was supposed to be a bug associated with the original French version (which I played) and supposedly (again) it was fixed along with the latest patch. Well, since Cyborg you come from Finland, I guess you didn't play the French version, right?
Well, anyway, I saw the same complaints from guys who had the latest patch (I think)...
Guess we just have to keep trying.
Thanx to CHILLman and theImmortalThief for taking the time to answer without getting nuttz with the beginner!:erm:
The ambience here is much healthier and cool than on the DXplanet forum! (wow! these guys are so full of it!):laff:

To the best of my knowledge this has nothing to do with the French version.
I had exactly the same problem... do you have GOTY or are you patched? Basically it seems to be a problem with the patch. Although you could complete the mission and do eveything you were meant to do the task is never ticked as complete... you also miss out a few experience points.
If you have a save game from some point before doing the dishes and re-do it then it might work. I got so annoyed after going through several mission and it not disappearing I ended up dropping about 10 hours of game play and going back to an old save game. It worked though...
I believe there is a similar problem with another task not getting marked off as complete but I'm not sure I never experienced it myself...

Agreed. It has nothing to do with the French version. The confusion occurs because the French version has only one small patch, and all it does is fix the satellite dish bug. This does not mean that only the French version has the bug!
As for the primary objectives not getting removed, I have so many of them, it is really annoying. As I said, they show really remove them by default when you move into a new map set.

Yes sir.
Objectives which wouldn't clear from my list on one were:
Send NSF distress signal
Find Tracer Tong in Hong kong
Retriev the Dragon's Tooth and await Tong's instruction
Scuttle the SS Wallcloud
All of these I had completed but all remained uncleared.
I think the lates patch addresses this though and I definitely do NOT have the French version.
