Wycliff Jean has set up a texting relief plan whereby you can donate $5 by texting the word "Yele" to 501-501. The effort has already raised $10 million according to (http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1629824/20100115/jean_wyclef.jhtml) MTV.

Unfortunately, it sounds like Jean's charity has (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/01/15/financial/f171320S81.DTL&type=business) a number of issues. I think it would be better to donate to Red Cross or another charity organization instead, at least until the concerns are addressed.

fett, dude, throttle down a bit here. I understand that these sorts of things can be really upsetting, but there's a reason that yelling WHY AREN'T YOU DONATING isn't a common strategy employed by charity organisations: it doesn't really endear your cause with those your trying to reach. Surely regardless of which charity people pick, it's just good that much needed funds are going to end up in Haiti.
