Image Type Priorities
---------------------
Aside from the new image formats, the priority (which type can override another) has been slightly adjusted.
The priority order is as follows, where the first has the highest override priority:
.DDS
.PNG
.TGA
.BMP
.PCX
.GIF
.CEL
Because of that i've converted all my textures to .DDS. It's the best format for Thief textures.

Broken. I checked it myself.
My upscaled water textures are in png format.
T2water mod had textures in dds format.
Game loads dds textures and after that inserts into T2water dds animation my png textures. And it becomes a very strange and ugly animation loop.
It certainly not the dds > png prioritize

You have to add the following lines to your .mtl files in your water folder:
force_ani_settings 1
ani_frames 20
20 is the number of frames used for the water animation. Set the correct number you need...

There is no sky folder anywhere with dds textures which can be deleted.
Training mission skybox is also broken.
You put another NSky skybox in fam/skyhw, that's the culprit. It's not there in vanilla T1/TG. Even in T2, NSky is in fam/sky. The question is: Why did you do this :confused:
Did you test the texture pack?

Not working. Animation is looping between old png textures, not dds.

dds is always the first texture to load. T1/TG water has 13+1 frames. T2 water has 19+1, that's why.

I tried about five-six times
Even with
ani_frames 20
or
ani_frames 14
it loads png textures for some reason. So water is half-png half-dds sequence. No matter what the mtl settings. So its clearly easier just to move upscaled water into separate addon.
Also, I do not see anything strange with the sky in the training mission. Nsky is in Thief Gold\PATCHES\fam.crf\skyhw\ folder in vanilla TFix.
I'll try to compare completely vanilla Thief and modded Thief with screenshots.
Just delete sky and skyhw folders from Thief Gold\USERMODS\fam\. It should fix all the problems (even if I don't see any).

Why there was patches folder in the first place if in is not in the .ini?

The "patches" folder is referenced in install.cfg in the TFix environment, as it is intended to directly patch the original resources.
