Test of the new textures for paintings

I still need arts for ripoff5, RIPOFF8 and SherTruS (which is "Robert Rich, 2nd Earl of Warwick" by Anthony Van Dyck (1642) but repainted).
I'll do a combine Thief Gold/Thief 2 pack.

How could I have different paintings per mission.
I´d like to see diversity and not the same paintings everywhere.

bassoferrol, create your own objects and inject/replace them in missions using DML files)
Every painting is a separate object (model).

Yeah, I don't get where those two come from in the EP packs. The only lead would be asking Nameless Voice, since he still seems active: (

And good eye on the Truart portrait! (He's a character in Thief 2) I get the feeling we won't be able to find the source of the edited painting, though...

It's be best thing I can do for SherTruS. My version is intended to be slightly brighter to lighten the higher quality additions to armor.

If it's ok, I'll upload the whole painting pack today

No idea how to do that.
You should consult with
voodoo47, he definitely know how to do it.
Every painting in game is an object, which consist of model (BIN file in OBJ folder) and two textures for the painting itself and for the frame. So for every painting texture there is a object model.
In case you want to use different paintings, you need to create several new objects with new paintings. I don't know how to model for Thief game. I think you could just create a copy of existing model and rename texture file (maybe you could even do it in hex editor) - so you will have several similar frames with different pictures.
Now you need to find where all the current painting used in missions. You create or modify exiting DML file (some script extension for MIS files where you could inject your changes without the need to modify the whole mission). You find the painting you want to replace, remove if using DML and insert new object with your painting using DML. It's not hard I think.

Bonus:
Combined Thief Gold & Thief II HQ Paintings PackMost of the textures are 1024x1024 in size. Textures were completely made from internet images with corresponding art, used in Thief games. Except for 2 images that were taken from EP2 but slightly modified.
It's a HQ textures just for paintings which are retaining more vanilla look like in original games in size, gamma and saturation. EP1 and EP2 versions for some reason are quite different than of the original game. I tried to preserve the original game look.
Pack is for Thief Gold and Thief II. If you are installing it for Thief Gold - there will be redundant files for Thief 2 in folder, but it will not interfere with the game in any way. The same is for Thief II.
Installation is as always - just unpack into USERMODS folder, overwriting everything. Install it after ESRGAN textures.

Well, I finally completed my Thief Gold walkthrough.
Found no bugs with ESRGAN Pack, so everything is supposed to be ideal.
I really liked Thief Gold. Core mechanics hadn't aged at all despite of all these years. The only frustrating levels were Down in the Bonehoard, Thieves' Guild and sometimes The Lost City. It took me about an hour in each just to find the proper way to the objective. An hour just wandering in circles in identical corridors.
Next I'm gonna play Thief 2, so I need to fix that Thief 2 videos once and for all)))
