Good evening TTLG dwellers!
I am writing to you today with a question that hopefully someone can answer. I am trying to get my hands on System Shock Enhanced Edition (or an alt. CD-Rom version of the game) complete with big box/inserts and was wondering if you knew of anywhere to obtain it? I know it's kinda rare.
I have looked on Amazon and of course eBay, but I was wondering if you knew of any specialist sites or trading websites (looked on GameTZ too) that would perhaps have some for grabs.
In addition, another reason I decided to post here is if by the off-chance someone happens to own this rather fantastic game themselves, is in pretty good/great condition and wouldn't mind making a fair chunk of change - by all means let me know! Money isn't really the issue so much as it is trying to find a copy of the damn thing!
Hopefully someone here can shed some light and point me in the right direction!
Happy gaming!
-Jack

Yeah I've seen that listing a few times. I know I said money's not really an object, but $300 is a bit too much. As it is, I already own 2 copies of Shock 2 (big box and complete).
What are some of the specialist sites you hint at?

Dude, they are full of assholes and scammers. There are ads for "desktop babe" software all over the place. You are probably more likely to actually get what you want by throwing money on the ground and hoping someone walks by and gives you what you want.
Stick with amazon and ebay. Actually, I would keep my wits about me on those places as well just in case.
Why do you want it so much? Collection?

Wow, thanks for the warning. Them sites can suck it then in that case. I guess I'll follow your advice and stick to eBay and Amazon. And yeah, it's just because System Shock happens to be one of my favorite franchises ever and I'd like to own a physical copy of the original and not the Portable version. I suppose there's more chance of someone on here being willing to sell their copy.
Thanks for your advice!

Have you tried looking at your local thrift stores, pawn shops, and grungy old gaming stores? You may have to settle with just a disc copy. It is a long shot, but I found a copy of SS1 CD with the bottom half of the jewel case. It is a shame that the booklet was gone (or paper sleeve, I don't know which it comes with), but $1.50 wasn't a bad deal at all.
If I ever get a job again, I am soo buying this.

I've checked my local thrift stores, book stores etc. I think I'm just going to have to hope someone will sell me a copy.
As for that SS1+SS2 listing on eBay. I think it's incredibly overpriced. I have 2 copies of SS2 and even if they were sold individually, you can find it far cheaper than that. SS1 on the other hand...jeez. Must be someone out there willing to sell their copy?
The hunt continues. I must re-re-re-re-re-re-exmaine my priorities. :P

Jesus, those are in horrible condition. I can't fault the seller for being up front about it with the photos, but if you're going to spend a bunch of cash to get the original boxes, at least go for something that's a reasonable approximation of new!

Those are definitely not mint, but far from "horrible". I have a 1999 box copy of PS:T that bears the shape of a platter, with a sticker ad for a pager and some other thing that no one uses anymore.
