dj, that's pretty much the reason. See, I wrote a hack to do a ban+move+other things, but I didn't do the Last Post tab because the spammers tend to post in the largest forums and that tab gets overwritten pretty quickly.
But yes, if you clicked it you'd just end up at a No Permission page.

I also thought that this was about certain spammific threads in Comm Chat. It's good to see the mods taking action to further prevent spambots. Userfriendliness is at work and I respect that.

How can ostensible spamholios like me tell real Spam© from regular postings when lotsa ttlgers make such blurry thread titles so oftenly? :sly:
It's really hard not even to read such.
-and why is robotic religious freedom of expression being suppressed in the Country o' Ostensible Freement?? (ain't serious with that last but it is a nasty issue when so many postNreply so fuzzily znd unpreparedlY. )
Give us an example here. :erg:
I would protest if I could figure anything out whatsoever.

To be fair it was noted that a combination of spamzor thread title like GIVEAWAY or FREE IPOD in addition to an unfamiliar name was most likely to be a spam thread.
Also, even if you get lured into viewing the thread you don't have to reply.

Four of the buggers just turned up in Comm Chat and GenGaming. Observe, and know your enemy...

It just happened again. Seems to be Spambot Day today.

Oh man, that new one in Comm Chat is just hilaaaarious. I love it to bits. Can I have one? It's relatively sophisticated actually, masquerading as a new member.
Do you think these bots might get so sophisticated we cannot tell them from the real thing? I mean there are already accusations of botness in the forums, and fairly recently too. Piglick and buglunch have been pointed too. I think the Davehpolice should investigate should investigate should investigate
