Should I still maintain a dual boot system with Windows xp SP3 32bit and Windows Vista x64 or do you find that with the modifications ( which I have not undertaken ) that Thief 1,2,3 etc will function sufficiently under Vista x64?
I'll be doing this tomorrow so I have to make a decision.

Thanks.

I can play my copy of Thief in the most Windows-version (2000, XP SP1/2/3, Vista) , but I havn't tried it at a x64.
(But my copy is modded so much that it really isn't thief anymore ;))
Do you have the Dual Boot system right now?
Then maybe you can test to install it on the x64 to know.

yes I do but I wouldn't mind just using the Vista x64

I have Vista 64 and have everything running fine. Some of the dev tools (fan-made apps that FM authors use to make missions) don't play nice in 64 bit, but Thief and Dromed both work fine. Assuming you have contemporary video drivers and probably a dual core processor or better, you'll have to use DDFix.

Great and thanks. I'll just install Vista then and finally retire xp. I'm one of the few that really likes Vista SP1 and have no issues :)

I love more about Vista than I thought I would. I love the changes to Windows Explorer, which I use very, very often. I find myself missing them at work (still XP).
