I started the quest from Vivec originally from the guy in the Treasury to make the noble in Balmora take back the slander. I didnt mess with it at the time, and basically forgot about it among the many many quests I have received. I then got the same quest from the Councilor I saved from assassination in Ald-ruhn. He wants me to make him take it back and if he doesnt take it back to duel him. When I spoke with him he didnt give me the opportunity to duel. He only said "Make me" when I asked him about slander.

I got his disposition up to 90 and he said he was sorry. So since I had been given basically same quest in Ald-ruhn and from Vivec, I went to Ald-ruhn to the Councilor to finish the quest. He would do nothing but continue to ask me if I had stopped his slander. It didnt register that I had gotten him to apologize and should have been over.

So, I figured maybe have to clear out the vivec quest first. I went to vivec, got the quest finished in the Redoran treasury. Travelled back to Balmora to make sure he still said he was sorry, then went to Ald-ruhn where the Councilor keeps asking me if I have stopped his slander.

So, I head back and this time taunt him till he attacks me. I kill him and head back to Ald-ruhn hoping this will finally trigger the flag. No luck. Councilor still asks if I have stopped the slander.

UGH. I don't even know how to open the editor really except maybe hitting the "~" key, but would have no idea what to type. can someone please help me with the command to solve this quest.

I took this quest from the Councilor after vivec but it was still a LONG time ago, and I got the Vivec quest when i was about level 5. I REALLY dont want to go back to a saved game that long ago.

HELP PLEASE!!
