I'm getting closer to the highest ranking -- not real sure if I can do it or not. Here's a journal entry to the next duty for the Redoran House, one given by Athyn Sarethi, he says I need to clear his sons name but I don't know where to go after talking to the son. The duties for this house seem to be more vague than most since Bralen Carvaren doesn't seem to be in anyones talk menu. Not a clue where to start looking for info to clear the poor lad.

Hehe....I found that statue when I first got the game back in May. I've always made a habit of keeping odd things that I've found and hiding them in my (stolen) house in Balmora. Always wondered why that statue was labeled differently than the others...now I know.
I beleive I am hopelessly stuck as house Brother.

I had this same problem with House Hlaalu but managed to get around it by going to the next duty giver. I can't advance any further without cheating because of the fact that I can't build my stronghold with 'The Duke' being 6 feet under & all. I've decided not to cheat my way out of this one. Still curious as to where the other two strongholds are to be built ? (Redoran & Telvanni) And, are they the same on the inside/outside as the Hlaalu Stronghold ? This Hlaalu Stronghold of mine is too small and too far from town for a house leader -- at least in my opinion.

As to the other strongholds, they're similarly remote. The Hlaalu & Telvanni strongholds are distant, which is rather usual for those Houses (take a look at how distant many of their councilors live), but the Redoran one being distant is just silly IMO. And unless you're doing something seriously screwy (yes, even screwier than I think you are) you've already visited the other two strongholds (Bal Isra & Uvirith's Grave/Tel Uvirith), so you should know what they look like inside, no?
As to size, the Redoran one's mostly underground and is a little larger as most of its NPCs have quarters within the main building. The Telvanni one is pretty nice, especially given its spacious dungeons.
