I've been able to destroy it on at least one occasion with some diligent hammer work and a couple of well placed exploding cars. If you can manage to stay on the indestructible pillars, the EDF vehicles that come after you will do a lot of the work for you.

If this is the huge ass bridge, I'd recommend waiting until you're almost done with the game. Once it's gone, it's gone, and it makes some of the race to point missions easier.

Actually once the Red Faction took over government (in their usual fashion: by blowing it up) they rebuilt the bridges, on my game anyway. Admittedly that's pretty far along.

In my playthrough, all the Mars govt propaganda billboards and the like which I had destroyed, were magically all repaired about halfway into the game.

Oh, man I'd be pissed.

All the EDF structures respawn when they raid the Red Faction base in the Badlands. Which I was okay with, since it meant I got to blow them all up again.

Well, I guess that's something, as I have laid waste to nearly the entire map and it looks rather desolate. I kinda anticipate a 'rebuilding'.

In case people weren't aware, the truly marvelous open world, sandbox game Red Faction Guerrilla has been migrated to Steamworks from the wretched GFWL.

Currently it's an option and not a patch forced upon everyone, activate the Steamworks beta branch through the game's Steam properties.

I'm pretty shocked that they've even managed to get a DX11 renderer going for it. When Nordic initially said that they would look into migrating to Steamworks I didn't believe that they'd actually be able to do even that.
Debating whether it'd be worth the trouble to dig up my disc and go through the rigamarole of e-mailing their customer support to try and get a Steam key, or just wait until the next time it's on sale and buy it again.

Just reinstalled to give it a try, and not having to deal with GfWL is an excellent change.
I'd forgotten how atrocious the writing is until replaying it, but then again this isn't a game anyone plays for the story.
