The magnet gun in Amergaddon looks like fun, but other than that, yeah it doesn't look too enticing.
I've actually played a bit more Guerilla recently. When you get the jetpack it really adds a new dimension of Awesome into the mix. :cheeky:
edit: holy shit Sulphur is ninjaposting and stealing all my lines. :O

As for RF: A, it certainly
looks linear, but do we have a confirmation on that? Also, there's this little ol' thingy called the magnet gun that looks like hugely ridiculous fun.
You had a point, so I googled it. Text suggests that a lot of the sandbox is gone and it's more focused plot progression. It's certainly leaning more towards linearity.

While Guerilla took the series in an open-world direction, Armageddon reverses course a bit. Most of the game takes place underground, and while the cavernous environments are large, they're more limiting than the last game. "You're going more focused this time," says Holmes. "We've got our big environments, our big destruction playgrounds, and we want to give a more focused narrative, a more focused story, real characters that are going to make you care."
Sutton points out that not all of the open-world gameplay is gone. "We still have open things to do. But we want to get rid of some of the bad, tedious sidequests, and only go with things that people like." There will be collectibles, though whether you like those or not is up to you, and multiplayer will make a return, though the developers are still tight-lipped on what exactly it will be like. "It's going to be new," is all Sutton would say, promising that we'll hear more about it, and the game itself, in the very near future.

Since it's a SyFy produced movie can we expect to see Dean Cain fighting a yeti? I highly doubt that it'll be the next Battlestar Galactica.

Holy shit, who wouldn't watch Dean Cain fighting a Yeti?!

A Red Faction television movie? Talk about a recipe for blandness. My jaded heart would rather have a Total Recall sequel. Political uprising needs character, a vein which Red Faction could never seem to mine. Get a decent writer in there and it could be interesting, but the thing's damned before it even gets off the ground.
I found the fact that they're looking to turn de Blob into a TV series far more interesting. Really, SciF SyFy*? You've got potential access to Metro 2033 and you went with de Blob?
*This word is like the most unenglish English abomination I've had the displeasure of typing out in a while.

Well, one can only hope.
It wouldn't really be a true sequel without Arnie and a 3-tittied lady, anyway, and what's the chances of that ever happening? :(

Did you know that Jan de Bont (Speed, Twister) wanted to turn Minority Report into a Total Recall sequel, about mutants from Mars who can predict the future? Of course, that was all dropped when Steven Spielberg came on board, but you could've had your sequel right there...
