Can someone tell me a solid and stable video card to use for running Thief 2 and Thief: DS?
I having headaches with my ATI Radeon HD3850 AGP on this machine. I'm down to get whatever card as long as it's agp or pci, able to run on windows xp 32 home with directx 9.0c, and has stable drivers available.
And I don't mind if it's an older card, I can always try to find one on ebay. Thanks!

in my opinion, that would be radeon x1950pro (512MB ram if possible).I'm still holding on one exactly for those reasons.should be quite cheap on ebay as well.

I have an ATI HD4650 with 1Gb and it works well for both games.

I like the radeon hd4650 idea, it has dual dvi outputs like my hd3850 does. I found one brand new for a reasonable price with a 2 year warranty. I also found another thread that said that card worked well, so I'm gonna try it out. I'll let you know when I have it installed if my woes are over with!

I had to get the LP to fit my slim case, but otherwise I've had no problems with it.

What driver version are you using? Did you have any problems installing them?
I got the card today but I can't get the correct drivers to install. I need to be running 9.4 but they won't install, i get a 'not compatible' error. The drivers on the install CD are 9.8, they install fine but thief crashes as soon as the level loads up. Kinda lost at this point...

Well to make a long story short, I had to return the HD4650. I couldn't get my system to recognize the card nor install the drivers for it, turns out a ton of people have had the same problem with it.
However, in the two days I spent messing with it I solved the problem with my old HD3850. Now Thief 2 and 3 both run flawlessly at 1600 x 1200 with max settings, so no harm no foul really, just a couple days of stress!
Thanks for your input anyhow guys!
