I am looking to buy a 32" flatscreen tv for my bedroom to replace the 90's 21" NICAM that currently resides on my tv unit. The reason why it has to be 32" is because it is the maximum the tv unit can accomodate.
The problem is, I'm on a strict budget - no more than £250 and truth be told I know nothing about what makes a good tv. It has to be HD as I have a HD set top box that is fed up being used via scart, but I've read that for a 32" screen there is no need for a full HD tv as the picture quality vs 720i would be neglible at that screen size. It will also be used for Xbox 360 and Wii.
One that I did find is (

Seems to have positive reviews and a decent feature set, and I have a DGM flatscreen monitor I've had since 2006 and I'm happy with it. However, I have no idea if those contrast ratios and brightness values are any good.
So, if anybody has any suggestions or things to look out for the fire them this way please.

Lies. Upscaling and downscaling is ass on most TV sets. Shop guys love to sell half HD sets, because they know you'll be back in two years time to buy a full HD set.

Definitely go full HD for this, unless you want to hate yourself. Problem is you'll have to bust a bit outside your price range. :erg:
The best method though to choose a TV is to go out there and find one you like to watch. Internet search is nice and all, but it's all very theoretical. Looking at the actual screen is best to know if it's fit for your eyes and your use of it.
