FWIW, House has an ex-wife.
In fact, most of Season 2 deals with their relationship - or, at least, with what's left of it!

House and Stacy were never married.
Anyway, Yeah Scots Lipstick on your Collar is lighter and a lot more fun than Singing Detective for sure. A good intro to Potter's stuff rather than diving in to TSD head first, which can be a bit much. ;)

No? Ok, must be remembering incorrectly then. Doesn't really matter anyway, with regards to this thread.
More on-topic, I can second
Entourage. Only seen Seasons 1 and 2 so far, but they've been (mostly) good and funny.

I think I'll check out The Wire, Madmen, and Dexter. I've heard good things about the latter two, and the former sounds interesting enough to get into. I've also started watching
The Riches. If you haven't seen it, definitely do so. It's extremely well written and original enough to be entertaining.

Arrested Development: probably the funniest show on television, if you're quick-witted and have a great recall, this show has a form of compounding referential humour that gets funnier as the three seasons progress. Unjustly cut down, brilliantly written and acted, the plot is all over the place but that's fine, just letting these guys in the same room as each other reading the lines written by the sharpest guys in Hollywood is enough for me. A comedy that the yanks finally got right in tone from start to finish... of course, it got cancelled.
Arrested Development was an absolutely amazing show. I just finished it a few weeks ago. It's that special kind of show where you plow through the episodes because it's so well made, but once it's over you feel really empty and you become angry at yourself for finishing it so quickly. But there's always hope for the movie.
Heroes was a fun show, much like how Firefly was. It's a good concept pulled off in a ridiculously corny way on purpose to the point where it's actually entertaining. I wouldn't consider it anywhere near my favorites, but I had fun watching it. I blame season 2 for having extremely poor pacing and lacking a centralized plot (which they eventually introduced like two episodes from the end).

Not sure if anime counts, but if it did I'd recommend The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya ((
http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?p=r&user=HaruhiShugi&page=2) sub [starting from the end], (
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C71D13CC40714B47) dub).
It manages to be shamelessly cliche (purposefully so) but still feel fresh at the same time. But it's the conceit that sucks you in ... What if
God was an above-average student that sat next to you in class and nobody knew it, least of all herself.
It had a huge impact in Japan when it came out last year ... sort of a cultural phenomenon. The second finale season will come out soon so Haruhi fever is starting up again.

Check out
Edge of Darkness if you can. Cold war espionage/ eco-terrorism tale from the eighties.
Seconded. Edge of Darkness is excellent. And directed by him that made Casino Royale and Goldeneye. And if we're going that far back, (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077078/) Sandbaggers is an excellent spy show. Very much anti-James Bond in its outlook on the intelligence business, most of it takes the form of bueraucratic infighting and people being ground to shit by the job, when they're not busy dying slowly and horribly in dingy hotelrooms. It's utterly compelling.
I also just finished watching Ultraviolet, a really cool take on modern vampires (even if they never actually mention the word), and the British government agency hunting them. It has a lot of interesting ideas on how they'd go about fitting into society, and gets a lot of mileage from the ambiguity surrounding the vampires' motives. Are they mostly harmless parasites, and the unit a death squad? Or is there something more sinister at work? It also has the added bonus of starring Stringer Bell. Pity the cast drifted to other projects before they could get a second series going.

Hell yeah, baby!
Oh, and the new Doctor Who. Damn good tv. Better than we deserve.

Top Gear, hell yes :D
Have a scratch around and you can watch the Pole mission in glorious HD.
Didn't mention it myself as I interpeted the thread as being about Drama only. My bad?
