Recommend a shit microphone

You'll find the odd review of quite expensive products in this area. Sometimes people even actually record the sound so you can hear it too! (the amount of useless 'unboxing' videos on youtube...the fuck is that all about? Of stuff where the packaging is clear as well!)

But what about (http://www.dinodirect.com/se-headset-microphone/) this sort of crap? It can't all be bad.

I'm vaguely looking at something in a cheap earhook mic. It's not something I can see being worth spending any large amount on if I can help it. Also there's no way any headset cans can compete with my headphones so something where the earpiece can be largely ignored.
Or a desk mic would do I guess.

Some of these cheap ones seem potentially ok, but it wouldn't hurt to know how the mic sounds first. So if you happen to have some cheapo knock off gi'z a listen.

I have the 2nd from the left as a backup mic. Everyone in Left 4 Dead says it sounds just fine.

Is that the one? I wonder if 'unilateral' is code for omnidirectional. That's the best kind I'd say, since it avoids the proximity effect.

Hmm. Well I just spotted (http://www.dinodirect.com/Multimedia-Microphone-with-Collar-Clip-Black-XTY-303.html) this one on there as well. Seems to be the same Yum Cha non-brand. Certainly won't break the bank to give it a try.
